PointCloud Solutions is capable of deploying any scanning solution on the market today. Our preferred scanning technology is supplied by the well-known and proven industry leader, Konica Minolta.  Konica Minolta continues to forge industry standards in speed, accuracy, reliability and ease-of -use with their Range 7, Range 5 and Vivid scanners.  PointCloud Solutions is privileged to be one of a limited number of  licensed Konica Minolta  resellers. We proudly deploy the Konica Minolta’s cutting-edge 3D Laser Scanning technology in the PointCloud Solutions 3D Service Bureau.   Data handling, follow-on engineering and solid modeling are accomplished with two, best-of-class software solutions, Rapidform and Geomagic .

Native scan data known as a “point cloud” can be exported as a “watertight” polygon mesh STL file capable of being used for tool path programming for most modern CNC machining platforms.  However, most 3D scanning deliverables are typically exported as tolerant (plus or minus 50 microns/.002 in.) idealized solid body CAD files in one of the mainstream CAD suites ( SolidWorks, Pro-E, UG) or as STEP or IGES parasolids.  Depending on the specific project objective, even FULLY parametric solids can be  modeled and delivered in extremely short time frames.

chp_hipjoint13D Laser Scanning greatly enhances the operational efficiencies of any Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) or similar environment where rapid, highly accurate measurements can be used to  design, create, modify or verify the dimensional accuracy of 3 dimensional objects.  3D Laser Scanning Technology has tremendous applications in a wide variety of marketplaces.
